About Megan Kenny, DNP, PMHNP-BC
Founder, Harborlight Psychiatric N.P. Services PLLC
I became a psychiatric nurse practitioner because I believe that mental health care works best when it's truly individualized: not just symptom-matched to a prescription, but built on a clear understanding of who you are, where you're coming from, and what you're working toward.
My practice focuses on high-achieving professionals and young adults navigating ADHD, anxiety, burnout, depression, and the psychiatric complexity that often accompanies major life transitions. I have a particular interest in ADHD as it presents in adults; especially in women who were often overlooked during childhood and are only now getting answers.
I hold a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and have been board-certified as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) for over 10 years, with 15+ years of experience in psychiatric care. Initial evaluations take place in person; ongoing care is delivered via telehealth throughout Illinois, giving patients the flexibility they need without sacrificing quality of care. My practice is intentionally kept small, so I can offer the kind of unhurried, one-on-one care that gets lost in larger clinics.
Patients who are prescribed controlled substances are seen in person at least once annually, a clinical standard I take seriously as part of responsible, long-term care.
My goal in every appointment is the same: to give you the time, clarity, and expertise you need to feel like yourself again.
Something has to change.
I can help you figure out what.
